Lent is a season we walk on our journey with God. On that journey, we witness some stark contrasts, as striking as black against white. The contrasts highlight the differences between lost human beings and the redeeming God-man, between doing it yourself and trusting God, between groping around in darkness or walking in the light in the Lord. As we see juxtaposed images of our “old self” and the “new self,” we can more thoroughly enjoy the transformation God has accomplished through Christ.
The contrasts are as opposite as death and life.
The only one who could accomplish the transformation in your life is he who humbled himself, so you could be exalted. You are invited to walk on this journey, see the contrast, and find hope in what God has done.
