God’s Word describes his church as “a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession” who are to “declare the praises of him who called [them] out of darkness and into his wonderful light.” Jesus described his church as the “light of the world” and the “salt of the earth.” Has the church fulfilled her role in this world? Or has she come abysmally shy of what God has envisioned her to be? Pressure and persecution come against the church from without. Conflict arises within. Is it even possible for the church to be what God has designed it to be?
In Beautiful Savior’s September 2014 worship series, we will examine how God describes his church and the power he provides for his church to do what seems impossible.
