New Year, New You

New Year New You

It’s time!

The new year is when we stop and resolve to become a better version of ourselves. We get back to the gym, we cook increased vegetable portions, or pump up our spiritual disciples. We want better versions of ourselves because we see the inadequacies in the current.

This New Year, discover how Jesus has already made a New You. This successful transformation has nothing to do with your resolve, but with his. Join us as we see how our powerful God has made us new through Christ.

Christmas 2019

God So Loved the World

We all desire love – reciprocal, inexplicable, unconditional.

But such a love is also impossible, right?

This Christmas discover the inexplicable, unconditional love of God.

God looked at this broken world and loved it. He sent his Son to bring God’s love and forgiveness to people in desperate need of both. The child born in a Bethlehem stable came to live for us, die for us, and rise from the dead to be our Savior.

Join us to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ! Our worship will feature an inspiring message, favorite Christmas carols, and a place to find God’s, world-changing love.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son…

WORTHY

Category:Events,Worship Tags :

The brokenness of this world is clear.

How have you experienced it? Is a family member blind or deaf? Has an accident cost you the use of your legs? Do you wet your cheeks with the tears that trickle down because your grandparent is suffering or gone? Even if you’ve been spared physical brokenness, does other darkness creep into your life? Children are bullied and abused. Nations pour billions into weapons intended for warfare, and sometimes a fear of our own neighbors grips our hearts.

The brokenness of this world is clear.

Yet, God loved this broken world. God loves all the broken people of this world. And God chose one worthy to break the darkness and heal the brokenness. He chose one who would come to draw all nations to himself and establish true peace and justice. He chose one worthy to take up his powerful Spirit and wield that power for healing, forgiveness, and restoration.  He chose one worthy to build the highway that leads you and me to the very city of God and the halls of heaven.  He chose one to be worthy of a magnificent name – Immanuel – God with us!

The one who is worthy is Jesus.

Join us in the weeks leading up to Christmas as we prepare to welcome this one who is WORTHY into our own hearts.

Welcome Home

Category:Events,Worship Tags :

There’s something about home. Home is where you relax after a long day of work. Home is where you can let your hair down, because you know the people there will love you, even with your quirks and flaws.

Home is where you feel most safe, in a world that isn’t.

Jesus intended for his church to be more than a school where we learn about God’s Word. He intended it to be more than a cathedral where we praise our Creator.

Jesus intended for church to be a home.

Jesus intended church to be a place where we gather with a spiritual family and enjoy all the blessings of home.

On October 20th, we will celebrate Welcome Home Sunday. We will talk about the importance of having the support of a Christian community.

The worship series will continue to discuss what we gain from Christian Community through November 24th.

Worship at 9:30am.

Ash Wednesday

Ash WednesdayMarch 6, 2019 – 6:30pm

Ash Wednesday begins the season of Lent.  On this day we are reminded that we are dust and to dust we shall return. Yet, Jesus promises us new life in him.

Ash Wednesday has traditionally been observed as a day of personal reflection and confession before God.  We bare our soul open to him and confess our sins, and he is faithful and forgives us for the sake of Jesus.

A Note about Ashes

The Imposition of Ashes will be offered in Beautiful Savior’s service. The Imposition of Ashes has been a tradition of the Christian Church throughout history.  Ashes are a sign of mourning in many cultures.  On Ash Wednesday we mourn that our sins caused the death of our Lord.  For many, receiving ashes, either on the forehead or on their hand, serves as a reminder to them of the love of Jesus that led him to pour out his blood to rescue them from their sins.

Beautiful Savior offers the Imposition of Ashes for those who find this tradition beneficial for the focus of their meditation and worship. Those who do not desire the ashes are encouraged to use this portion of our service for personal reflection.

New Year Revolution

New Year Revolution

The good news of Jesus Christ is not superficial, but revolutionary.

Could we know the gospel and yet not really know the gospel? In much of Christianity moralism and legalism have often eclipsed the gospel. In this series, we will seek to cut through the superficiality of religion and reacquaint ourselves with the revolutionary truth of God’s gracious acceptance of us in Christ. The gospel is the power of God, and the only true source of joy, freedom, radical generosity, and audacious faith. The gospel produces in us what religion never could: a heart that desires God.

Let the power of the light who has burst into the darkness change you and your world as you enter the new year.

A Light in the Darkness

The world can be a dark place. We see it in the news. We see it in our lives. On the first Christmas, a brilliant light pierced the darkness. The child born in a Bethlehem stable had come to bring the light of forgiveness and peace to a darkened world. Join us to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ! Our Christmas worship will feature and inspiring message, favorite Christmas carols, and a place to bask in the light of the Christ-child.

A Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.

He Comes, Bearing Gifts

Category:Events,Worship Tags :

Curly head dolls that toddle and coo. Elephants, boats, and kiddie cars too. Santa Claus is comin’ to town.

You’ll hear those lyrics often during the holiday season—a song about a man who’s coming to bring all sorts of gifts. But, are they really gifts? The definition of a gift is “something given voluntarily without payment or condition.” The man in the red suit has conditions:

You better watch out. You better not cry. You better not pout.
He knows if you’ve been bad or good, so be good…

If you give someone a gift only if they meet certain qualifications, that is not a gift.

There is one who is coming, bearing real gifts, profoundly important gifts. Jesus came that first Christmas to win forgiveness and give all the gifts that come with it: hope, peace, joy, love. He is coming again at the end of this world to give you the gift of resurrection to eternal life. In the season of Advent, we connect Christ’s first coming with his second coming. We rejoice in all the unconditional gifts he gives.

He is coming, bearing gifts. Let us prepare our hearts to meet him.

Join us on Sundays, December 2nd, 9th, and 16th for this series.

9:30am

On Sunday, December 23rd, there will be a special children’s service.
