Greatness Worship Series

Greatness

Greatness is a lofty ideal for which many strive. Only the lazy or unmotivated are content with mediocrity. What allows someone to achieve greatness? Often attempts at greatness begin with grand intentions but fall short upon completion. Trauma, conflict, and everyday struggles interfere with personal delivery of greatness. On the pages of God’s Holy Word, Romans 8 leaps forth to describe the greatness of our God and his great promises. When God stands on our side, we know his greatness and the greatness of his gracious promises – all guaranteed through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

This worship series begins with an outdoor worship service at Creek Ridge County Park on Sunday, June 25th at 10:00am. All are invited to the picnic meal to follow after the worship service. Then we will play games and enjoy the atmosphere of the park.

The series continues for three weeks following, with services at 9:30am.

June 25 – Great Peace (Outdoor at 10:00am)

July 2 – Great Power

July 9 – Great Future

July 16 – Great Promises

Terrorism. Violence. Murder. Chaos. It seems like it’s all falling apart.  It seems like the end of the world is upon us. Whenever we talk about the end of the world, it’s always in dark and ominous terms. God’s people live in the light of a resurrected Savior. For them, there are only better tomorrows ahead. Whenever we talk about the end of the world, it’s always in dark and ominous terms. God’s people live in the light of a resurrected Savior. For them, there are only better tomorrows ahead. The end of this world will usher in the life that our hearts have always longed for. In this

In this series we will find joy and peace in the promises of God that he will uphold us and carry us, that he will be our sunshine through the last dark days of this world and that, in the end, a true paradise awaits us.

“When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near” (Luke 21:28).

Live Like No One Else Series

Live Like No One Else

pco_LLNOE

Dave Ramsey is a financial guy. He writes books and does a radio show. His primary purpose is to help people transform their financial situation. He wants to help people go from being in financial crisis, to being financially healthy.

He reminds people over and over again: if you choose to live like no one else now, you will be able live like no one else in the future. In other words, if you make the financial choices (perhaps even sacrifices) that most people are not willing to make now, in the future you will be able to enjoy the benefits that no one else does.

Dave Ramsey’s axiom is not really his own (and we believe he would freely admit that). It’s an expression of the spiritual reality that Jesus and the rest of the Scriptures teach us over and over again. Although we are in the world, we are not of the world. God has given us a higher vision and different priorities.

In this series, from October 2 – October 23, 2016, we will explore this truth of this axiom as we look at how the gospel of Jesus Christ changed the attitudes and the priorities of the Christians in Corinth. They lived like no one else and discovered that they were blessed like no one else!

“You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God” (2 Corinthians 8:11).

Momentum

Momentum Worship Series

Momentum_1280Momentum is latent, built up energy ready to propel an object forward. Momentum might be missing in our lives. We sometimes feel sluggish, distracted, depressed, and stagnant. As we learn the love and compassion of our God, he provides momentum for our lives. He provides energy and momentum to the body of Christ as we gain the heart of God. This momentum propels us forward individually and collectively.

This worship series at Beautiful Savior begins on August 28 and runs until September 25, 2016.

A special outdoor worship service on September 11 will be part of this series.  That service will be held at Creek Ridge County Park, by the Prairie pavilion at 10:00am. The address of the park is 7943 W. 400 North, Michigan City, IN.

Not Without Consequence

Tags :

not wo consequence

God has acted with incredible love and grace toward us to rescue us from our sin.  However, God’s grace is not without consequence.  God’s gracious action resulted in Jesus’ grueling death.  God’s gracious action also results in changes and challenges for those who would hold dear his forgiveness and compassion. Jesus urges us to understand the consequences of God’s incredible grace, so that we will not lose our hold on that grace.

Join Beautiful Savior August 30 – September 20, 2015 as we explore this worship series.

Heart of Worship Series

Heart of Worship webFor what does God call when we gather in his name? What benefits do I receive from worship? My motivation for coming to worship should be pretty clear, but I find myself struggling to get out of bed. Why should I go?

In July and August of 2015 Beautiful Savior’s worship will focus on the answers to these questions, as we get to the “Heart of Worship.”  Please join us as we explore what worship is, what worship does, and how we can best serve our God and one another in our worship.

“For I desire mercy, not sacrifice, and acknowledgement of God rather than burnt offerings.” –Hosea 6:6

Who is HE?

Son of God Series

Who is HE?

Just as was true in Jesus’ day, there are some today who say he was merely a great man and teacher, some say he was a lunatic, while others believe he is the Son of God. This series will help you search for the truth of who Jesus really is, so that you can answer for yourself the question Jesus asks of everyone: “Who do you say I am?”

Stuck? Worship Series

Tags :

stuck_650x140

Do you ever feel stuck??? You’re in a rut. You just can’t seem to move forward. We’ve all experienced this. Sometimes it’s our career or a relationship. It can happen as we struggle to master a new technique or put into practice a plan to lose weight. Unfortunately, we can also find ourselves in a spiritual rut, unable and unsure how to gain momentum and move forward in our faith.

In this series we’re going to study a letter that the Apostle Paul wrote while he actually was physically stuck…in prison. Paul found a way to maintain spiritual momentum by “pressing on towards the goal” and this gave him great contentment, joy, and peace through an incredibly trying time. In this series the Holy Spirit will teach us how to move forward spiritually as we unpack what it means to “forget what is behind and strain toward what is ahead.”

Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

-Philippians 3:13-14

This worship series will run from October 12 through Thanksgiving Eve.
